From the 2021 photo to today: four years that accelerated a direction
The distance between this photo and today is at least four years. It was taken in the middle of the pandemic, in October–November 2021, when the world was resetting, entrepreneurship was searching for its compass, and the “AI era” hadn’t yet gone mainstream. Back then I set out to stay close to the community through meaningful projects, anchored in people’s real needs.

What I was doing then
I imagined I could bring added value to the Romanian diaspora in Scandinavia through an online bookstore with physical books in the mother tongue. That’s how ocarte.dk took shape, a simple and honest shop with Romanian titles delivered in Denmark and across Scandinavia, at a time when digital content—e-books and audiobooks—was becoming the norm. The idea stayed the same: a good paper book keeps you connected to the language you think and dream in.
In parallel, I sensed a niche that was growing: video productions and live streams for online. That’s how I developed bonea.dk, where I combined a passion for visuals with technical rigor: filming 4K at 240 fps up to 12K at 60 fps RAW, live broadcasts and secure streaming up to UHD/4K, including drones and Blackmagic, Canon, and DJI setups. On top of that I added UI/UX, web, and SEO/marketing components—everything needed for a message to reach the audience clearly and beautifully.
What I do today
Today, I combine three complementary directions:
-
bonea.dk – Bonea Creative Studio – a production and live streaming studio, end-to-end services: strategy, production, post-production, distribution. The mission remains the same: visual stories that stick and perform in campaigns.
-
ocarte.dk – the bookstore for Romanians in the North, where we continue to list bundles and popular titles, with discounts and fast delivery. For many of us, a book in Romanian is the bridge that doesn’t break.
-
paulbonea.com – my platform for consulting and keynotes: innovation and entrepreneurship, business consulting, personal branding, cybersecurity (GDPR & NIS2), journalism & podcasting, all the way to custom virtual assistants and initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. Practically, everything I’ve learned over more than 20 years in tech and product, packaged as value for teams and founders.
How I support companies today
Beyond creative and product work, I help companies scale responsibly and operate leaner—without treating people as disposable assets:
-
Office-work automation. From workflow redesign to AI/RPA and system integrations, I automate back-office and repetitive tasks so people can focus on higher-value work.
- Scale & operating systems. We design playbooks, metrics, and lightweight governance so teams can grow fast without chaos.
-
Efficient cost reduction. We optimize processes and tooling to cut waste while protecting core capabilities and customer experience.
-
Upskill over layoffs. I prioritize training, augmentation, and redeployment so employees become more capable—instead of being “thrown away” through knee-jerk layoffs.
-
Founder exit options. When it’s time to step back, I help prepare the company to grow without you—structuring an exit where you can retain a stake and benefit from future upside.
In short, I’m a business polymath who blends product, technology, design, and data—a label that describes me accurately in 2025, when the boundaries between roles are flexible and results are what matter.
What I’ve learned along the way
-
Quality beats noise. In a crowded feed, strong imagery, clean sound, and a coherent story win.
-
Live demands discipline. Technical redundancy, security, and clear processes. When you promise 4K live, you’re not allowed to “drop.”
-
AI is a multiplier, not a shortcut. We use it in pre- and post-production, in research and drafts, but the final “taste” remains human.
-
Community is strategy, not a tactic. ocarte.dk grew organically because it served a real need, not a trend.
-
Data safety isn’t optional. Whether streaming, websites, or e-commerce, GDPR & NIS2 compliance is part of the design, not an afterthought.
-
ESG is practical, not performative. From energy-aware production setups and minimal travel to inclusive casting and fair vendor standards, small operational choices add up.
-
Align with the SDGs to stay relevant. Projects that map to clear SDG levers—quality education (SDG 4) via accessible content, decent work (SDG 8) through fair contracts, reduced inequalities (SDG 10) with multilingual and accessible formats—create measurable impact and better business.
Where I am and how we collaborate now:
I work out of Ullerslev (Region of Southern Denmark), 15–20 minutes from Odense, and collaborate with clients across Europe. If you have a product idea, an event to stream, a video campaign, or you want to clarify your personal brand or digital architecture, let’s talk.
